I’m very excited to announce that MemberPress has acquired ThirstyAffiliates!
ThirstyAffiliates was created by our friend Josh Kohlbach at Rymera Web Company. He wanted to help affiliate marketers make more money by protecting commissions and providing powerful tools and intuitive management of affiliate links.
Josh and his team have maintained ThirstyAffiliates for years. During this time, Josh has also created other products focused on WooCommerce, including Wholesale Suite, Advanced Coupons, and Inventoroo.
As Rymera’s other products progressed, it became clear that their focus moving forward would be WooCommerce. However, this meant that ThirstyAffiliates would no longer fit within their product portfolio. That’s when we started brainstorming on finding a new home for the product.
The more we talked, the more it made sense for MemberPress to acquire ThirstyAffiliates. ThirstyAffiliates and Pretty Links solve similar problems but approach them from alternative angles and serve different markets.
Plus, we were well-positioned to take ThirstyAffiliates over. We have extensive knowledge of affiliate link management in WordPress– considering that Pretty Links is a leading WordPress affiliate link management plugin.
This brings us to today’s announcement. MemberPress has officially acquired the ThirstyAffiliates plugin in an all-cash deal!
What Does Our Acquisition Mean for ThirstyAffiliate Users?
The acquisition of ThirstyAffiliates by MemberPress means that ThirstyAffiliates users will continue to benefit from updates, support, and future enhancements. We plan to maintain ThirstyAffiliates with the same philosophy that Josh and his team had done for years.
More importantly, there will be no requirement to purchase or install Pretty Links to continue using ThirstyAffiliates.
We will continue to support and build ThirstyAffiliates as a separate product from Pretty Links. So, if you’re a ThirstyAffiliates customer, there won’t be any perceptible difference other than a new team providing you with support.
What Does This Mean for Pretty Links Users?
Pretty Links users will hardly notice any changes with the acquisition of ThirstyAffiliates. However, we do have a lot of exciting new features in the works that we’re planning to release in the upcoming weeks.
You can expect to see some associations between the two products that will enhance your experience using both Pretty Links and ThirstyAffiliates.
We appreciate our new ThirstyAffiliate customers, and we’re truly excited to serve you. We look forward to helping you excel in your efforts to manage affiliate links and monetize your content!
Blair Williams
CEO of ThirstyAffiliates
This is interesting. I use both Pretty Links and Thirsty Affiliates and there’s quite a different workflow between the two. Now, I hope you can port the best of each tool into the other. Looking forward to seeing the developments
Because of this change, there wont be any issues with my links right?
That is correct, your links will continue to work going forward.
So, will you merge the two tools? I was looking at purchasing a TA pro licence for black friday, in all honesty am I best to go with PLL now? I’m a small time affiliate but hoping to use the geotargeting ability of TA and make adding links easier and more discreet. Hope you or other clients can help with a recommendation. If you’ll be merging I guess it won’t matter.
Hi Megan, no plans to combine them at this point. The two products will be kept separate and maintained separately as well. Hope that clears things up!
cant wait to see the changes in pretty links in the year ahead, i bought my unlimited lifetime copy way back in 2009. so been using it for quite a while!
I probably bought in 2009 as well… great purchase. Love my PLP! And I tell everyone about it.
Congrats Blair!
Hi Blair, Congrats to ThirstyAffiliates team. I have been using both pretty and Thirsty Affiliates links for quite some time now. I feel it is better to keep both products separate, even though both the products tackle the same problem, however they have different workflow altogether. Keep up the good work guys.
If so, you should combine the two programs. Before PLL came out, I was planning on buying a TA pro license on Black Friday. Despite my insignificance as an affiliate, I’m interested in putting TA’s geotargeting features to use so that adding links is less of a hassle and more covert. I’m crossing my fingers that you or some of our other customers can provide a suggestion. Probably doesn’t matter if you’re going to merge anyhow.
